This course focuses on human genetic variations and NCBIs SNP and OMIM database and basic concepts and terminology of different forms of genetic variations. Course participants will learn to query the database by SNP attributes, submitter information and other values and to interpret search results. Other genetic variation resources such as Genetic Variation Server (GVS), Seattle SNPs database and the HapMap project are also discussed.
