About the speaker

Jason received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University, then spent three years working with Dr. Terry Maratos-Flier as a Research Associate at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. His graduate work was conducted with Dr. Charles Mobbs here at Mount Sinai, investigating hypothalamic glucose sensing and metabolic aspects of ketogenic diets, for which he received his PhD in 2008. He then went to the Yale School of Medicine for his postdoctorate where he investigated the central molecular mechanisms of counter-regulatory function during hypoglycemia with Dr. Robert Sherwin. In 2011, he joined the Muscle and Metabolism group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals where he currently coordinates the new target discovery efforts for the group.
